A Lot of Stuff is Due on Friday in Language Arts

There is a lot of stuff that needs to be done by Friday in Language Arts. The first (and most important) assignment is an Illustrated Vocabulary Project that will count as two project grades. All students were given this assignment on Monday. The directions for the project was stapled into their agenda on Monday.

Take 3 vocabulary words and illustrate them on paper. The illustration must include the word, the part of speech, the definition, a picture(s) that shows what it means, and an example of a sentence using that word.. Due Friday, September 24.

They have the list of vocabulary words that they can choose from.

Also due this Friday, students must have answered my Language Arts Weekly Challenge. It must be completed by the end of day on Friday, and it is for a homework grade. Students without access to the internet have been given the opportunity to complete the assignment during class, before school, and after school. Also on Friday, like every Friday, I will collect their Reading Log, their Sponges, and they should have their Agendas signed for the week. Their Reading Log is extremely important, because by the end of September, they must have read at least 500 pages. The Reading Logs are one such way to document what they have been reading. The following image is how their Reading Log should be set-up. Each week day night they should read 5+ pages, while over the weekend, they must read 10+ pages.
