After a week preparing for the practice Writing Prompt, my Language Arts classes will return to their Read 180 lessons on Monday. A few weeks ago, I placed a video that shows you a little bit about what Read 180 is all about. Now I'm going to show you a picture that explains how time is spent in the class each day.
We start off each lesson with 20 minutes of Whole Class Instruction, then we move into our stations. They spend 20 minutes at each station per lesson. Station 1 is Small Group, where they go more in depth on what we covered in Whole Class Instruction. Station 2 is the Read 180 Software on the computers. Each student gets lessons geared specifically toward them, and they move through each lesson at their own pace. Station 3 is Independent Reading, where they choose a book from the Read 180 library. As they read, they have several activities they must complete, and when they finish their book, they take a test over it. If there are any questions concerning Read 180, feel free to send me a message. |
